My First Lightning Photo: An Unforgettable Night at Crazy Horse Monument

On July 24, 2005, I captured my very first lightning photo at the Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota. Armed with a failing Sony Cybershot and a bit of luck, I combined the monument’s nighttime laser show with a dramatic storm rolling in behind it. The result was an unforgettable lightning photograph that sparked my lifelong passion for storm and landscape photography.
